Blizzard 1 February 2016

Today is 1 February 2016, a real Colorado Springs blizzard. It has been snowing for most of the past two days, and accumulations are probably over 6 inches at this point. While it is still snowing, and supposedly will do so into tomorrow, I thought I would take a few snaps of a blizzard in progress. Needless to say, pretty much everything is closed and no doubt will be tomorrow as well. I will update with more snaps tomorrow in a new post.

It may not look so bad in some of these shots, but then, I just spent a good hour or more shovelling snow.

I like how, when it is covered in snow, my car looks as fashionable as everyone else's. It is the only time that it does.

Please make no mistake. I am not looking for sympathy or anything like that. I enjoy the snow. I've been shovelling snow since before I was a teen, and I kind of like it. It certainly makes the neighborhood look different.

Forecasts are that it will continue snowing just like this for another 18 hours or so, until mid-day tomorrow, 2 February 2016.

Needless to say, the piles of snow will look a bit more impressive when the snow storm is done. But, it is scenic to see the snow actually falling, too, even if there is much more to come. Plus, there has been no organized effort to clear it around here yet, so it a pure snow scene.
