Balloon Classic in Colorado Springs

The annual Colorado Springs Balloon Classic is held each year in Memorial Park near the center of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dozens of balloons take off in the morning at the same time, filling the morning sky with brightly colored - and sometimes oddly shaped - hot air balloons. It is one of the great sights of Colorado and well worth checking out in person.



I took these pictures and video on September 2, 2013. It rained the night before, otherwise I would have gotten some more pictures and video of the nightly Balloon Glo that occurs over the Labor Day Weekend after dark.

As you can see, it was a cloudless sky, and the mountains provided a nice frame in the background. A very colorful sight, one of the classic views in Colorado!
