This One Hits Closer to Home for Colorado Springs than the June 2012 Fire

It's June, so that means forest fires in Colorado. In June 2013, there already are several in progress, including one at the famous Royal Gorge Bridge. The one the hits home for the most people, though, is a raging forest fire that, at the time of this writing, still is not under control. Reportedly, it has destroyed a dozen "structures," but that figure includes homes (because they showed some burned-down homes on the news) and is certain to be revised higher. No word of any casualties.

All these fires are easy for me to film - I haven't had to drive more than fifteen minutes from my house yet!

I took some video and pictures of the fire around 7 p.m. local time, with sunset still over an hour away. Some of this footage aired on CNN on June 12, 2013.:
